I'll start since I put up the question -- I'm working with a friend on an idea to combine the communication attributes of e-mail lists to the collaboration power of wikis. Check it out at mail2wiki.com. Business model would be (1) contextual advertising, (2) premium subscriptions (e.g., branded space, ad-free space, greater storage capacity), (3) software licenses to those wanting to install it on their servers (e.g., enterprises looking for greater security / control)

We've just launched FreeRateSearch.com the first site that lets consumers get actual mortgage rate quotes without first having to divulge personal information. We use industry technology to quote rates, subprime to prime, and update rates daily. We'd like feedback on whether we are clearly conveying the difference between what we're doing and the other sites out there that say they'll quote rates but are really just gathering information so they can sell it as a lead.
